Les Houches / Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
Nestled at the foot of the Mont Blanc massif, Chamonix is considered the world capital of mountaineering. With its renowned ski areas and extensive network of lifts, this famous alpine resort is a paradise for mountain lovers in both winter and summer.
In the historic town center, the former Chamonix Palace houses the Alpine Museum, which traces the history of the Chamonix Valley and showcases a fascinating collection of historical artifacts.
From Les Houches, the panoramic views of the Chamonix Aiguilles are simply breathtaking.
The Mont Blanc Tramway, one of the last rack railways in France, climbs the mountainside above the village. In summer, its terminus is the Nid d’Aigle station at 2,372 meters (7,782 ft), the starting point of the classic route to the summit of Mont Blanc.
In winter, the train stops at Bellevue Plateau at 1,800 meters (5,905 ft), providing access to scenic walks, snowshoeing trails, and the Les Houches ski area, all while enjoying magnificent views and sunshine.

Five major ski areas:
• Les Houches – Family-friendly skiing through beautiful forests, with stunning views. Slopes range from gentle blue runs to challenging red runs, including the famous Kandahar World Cup piste.
•. Brévent-Flégère – Spectacular south-facing skiing with unforgettable views of the Mont Blanc massif.
• Vallée Blanche & Aiguille du Midi – One of the world’s most famous off-piste descents, offering a true high-mountain experience among glaciers and breathtaking alpine scenery.
•. Argentière – Les Grands Montets – Outstanding skiing among glaciers, beneath the legendary peaks of the Aiguille Verte and Les Drus.
Balme – Le Tour – Vallorcine – Relaxed and enjoyable skiing with magnificent panoramic views, accessible from both Le Tour and Vallorcine.
Courmayeur (Italy) – Just through the Mont Blanc Tunnel, enjoy excellent skiing on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, along with the pleasures of authentic Italian cuisine
